I work freelance as a mobile developer — iOS first, Android and cross-platform when the job asks for it. I also wrote a Manning book on iOS in Swift, and I keep this site as a notebook so I don’t have to solve the same problem twice.
Why this site exists
Do you ever spend an afternoon unpicking a problem, then meet the same problem six months later with a completely empty head? This blog started as a place to write the solution down — mostly for me. If Google walks you in, I hope it helps you too. That’s why it’s called Before I Forget.
The path here
Working backwards: SwiftUI, Java (Android), Swift, Objective-C, HTML5, JavaScript, Flash (AS3), AIR, Director, Authorware, Visual Basic, COBOL, Turbo Pascal, and BASIC on a Commodore 64. I still like picking up something new. Lately that’s included Flutter and React Native.
