From iOS to Android, web apps to touch-screen exhibits, I’ve developed utilities, games, educational apps, music apps, marketing, informational apps and much more.
Here is a selection of projects I have built and shipped at Interactive Coconut, with a little ‘behind the scenes’ information – what technologies were used, and how they have been received.
Subtitles Viewer
Real-time subtitles for cinema, TV, and streaming.
The iOS version was originally built in Objective-C, and the code-base has gradually been updated to Swift. In addition an Android version was built in Java.
Music Vibes
Play or record a melody and feel the music through haptic vibrations.
This app began as an experiment into what was possible with converting haptic vibrations into melodic tones, and became a fascinating exploration into ‘hearing’ through bone conduction.
Rhymer's Secret
A rhyming dictionary with advanced features.
This app is one of several writing tools that I have built, including another interesting app called Writer’s Secret, which helps you when you are searching for the right word.
Text Pics
Detects text in a photo and convert the text into pictures.
This app was inspired by an experience of not being able to read a menu in a restaurant in China. Simple translation didn’t help much, I needed images! This app was an interesting combination of external tools - I used Firebase for cloud based text recognition, and the Bing API for image search.
Multisaurus
A thesaurus that allows you to search for multiple words simultaneously.
The iOS app was rebuilt from the ground up in Swift in 2019. The original iOS/Android version was built in 2014 using Phonegap.
